Business Improvement District #1, originally known as the Downtown Improvement District, was formed to build working partnerships, encourage investment and support initiatives for a healthier commercial district in downtown Fremont.  In 2016, the BID yearned for further revitalization and sustainability and with the help of the Fremont City Council, Mayor, and the City Administer were able to develop the current BID.
